Bel Akker Tour
The cultivation of fruit and vegetables is coming back to the city. This is a good thing, because it limits the distance that food travels from product to consumer and keeps the ecological footprint small. Urban agriculture also plays a role in the many challenges of sustainable food and socio-economic development. It improves air quality and promotes biodiversity. Discover our 5 organic fields, each with their own characteristics. Under the guidance of our urban farmers, people with psychological or psychiatric problems or with mental disabilities work here. People who are temporarily unable to participate in the regular work circuit because of burn-out or rehabilitation after an accident can also come here, as can young people who are tired of school and are in a Timeout project. But we also get help from people who just want to help out in the vegetable garden or want to learn more.
